Touchpoints/Omni Blog

The Omni Blog Purpose Hierarchy

1
Rank
Capture organic search traffic for a specific keyword. Optimized structure, targeted terms, and search intent match drive discoverability.
2
Educate
Answer a real question the ICP is already asking. Build trust by being genuinely useful — not just keyword-stuffed filler.
3
Convert
Move the reader toward a specific next action: book a call, download a resource, subscribe. Every post ends with a CTA — no exceptions.
4
Build Authority
Demonstrate expertise in a specific domain. Consistent, opinionated, well-researched content builds the brand's credibility over time.
5
Repurpose
The blog becomes the source content for social posts, email, short-form video, and FAQ answers. One post, maximum reach.
The Omni Rule: Every blog post should serve at least two of these purposes. A post that only ranks without educating, or only educates without a conversion path, is leaving value on the table.

H1 · Title
50–60 chars · keyword first
Include the primary keyword naturally. Use a number, question, or power word. Never sacrifice clarity for keyword density — Google penalizes stuffing.
Meta Description
150–160 chars · earn the click
Restate the benefit of reading. Include the primary keyword. End with a subtle CTA. This is your ad copy in the search results — write it to convert.
Introduction
Hook in 3 sentences or less
State the problem. Promise what they'll learn. Never open with "In today's fast-paced world..." The first 100 words are the highest-leverage real estate on the page.
Body Structure
H2 sections · 1,200–2,500 words
H2s = main sections. H3s = sub-points. Paragraphs: 2–4 sentences max. One idea per paragraph. At least one image or visual per major section.
Internal Links
2–4 links · descriptive anchors
Link to service pages and related content from relevant passages. Never use "click here" — anchor on the descriptive keyword phrase.
CTA
Every post · topic-matched
Appears at end, optionally mid-article. Match the CTA to the topic — don't offer a roofing consultation on a social media marketing post. Book a call, download, subscribe, or get a quote.

The Three Keyword Tiers

Tier 1
Pillar Keywords
High volume · High competition
2,000+ words · In-depth pillars
Broad category keywords that anchor your topic authority. Long-term plays — start them early and build the cluster around them.
"roofing contractor [city]"
"social media marketing agency"
6–12 months
Tier 2
Topic Keywords
Medium volume · Medium competition
1,200–2,000 words · How-tos & guides
Specific problems and questions the ICP is actively searching. Strong how-to and guide formats work best. Feed traffic to your Tier 1 pillar.
"how to find a good roofer"
"best time to post on Instagram"
2–6 months
Tier 3
Long-Tail Keywords
Low volume · Low competition
800–1,200 words · FAQ-format
Hyper-specific, high-intent queries from buyers who know what they want. Rank fastest and convert best — the fastest ROI in the blog program.
"emergency roof repair [city]"
"HVAC installation cost [city]"
1–3 months

Topic Cluster Structure

PILLAR POST Tier 1 2,000+ words Tier 2 How-to guide Tier 3 Long-tail FAQ Tier 2 Comparison Tier 3 Local post Tier 3 Case study Tier 2 Tips post Tier 3 FAQ post Tier 2 Checklist
One Pillar per Major Topic
Create one comprehensive Tier 1 pillar post (2,000+ words) for each core topic area. This is the authority anchor the entire cluster builds around.
5–10 Supporting Posts per Pillar
Each supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 post covers a specific sub-question or long-tail variation. Together they dominate the topic in search.
Bidirectional Linking is Non-Negotiable
All supporting posts link back to the pillar. The pillar links out to supporting posts. This creates the topic authority signal Google rewards with rankings.
