Omni Channel Guide
LinkedIn Ads — The Omni Way
The only channel where you can reach the decision-maker by title, company size, and industry — before they've ever heard of you. This is how Wundertre runs LinkedIn: always-on, targeted to revenue, and integrated with the full Omni system.
System Rationale
Why LinkedIn Belongs in the Omni System
Tenet 01 — Omni-Insight
The Only Proactive B2B Targeting Channel
LinkedIn lets you target by job title, seniority, company size, and industry with a precision no other ad platform matches. You don't wait for a Property Manager to Google "commercial HVAC" — you're already in front of them every time they open their feed. The Omni system is built on identifying the right buyer before they identify themselves. LinkedIn is the only channel that makes that possible at scale.
Tenet 02 — Omni-Presence
The Uncrowded Professional Feed
Most service businesses either ignore LinkedIn entirely or show up with a forgettable company page. That's the opportunity. When a commercial contractor, cleaning company, or B2B service provider shows up consistently with intelligent, useful content in a feed full of noise, they stand out. Omni-Presence means owning channels where your buyers spend time — and for commercial clients, that's LinkedIn.
Fit Assessment
Who This Channel Is Right For
Commercial Roofing
Target Facilities Directors, Building Owners, Property Managers
Commercial HVAC
Reach Office Managers, COOs, Facilities teams at mid-size companies
Property Management
Vendor partnerships, maintenance services, multi-property operators
Commercial Cleaning
Office Managers and Operations Directors at companies 20–500 employees
Pest Control (Commercial)
Restaurant groups, retail chains, property management companies
Coaching & Consulting
Decision-maker outreach; thought leadership format is the highest-ROI format in this vertical
B2B Services
Any service with a defined buyer persona at a specific company size and title
+ Any Commercial-Facing Business
If you can name the job title of your ideal buyer, LinkedIn can reach them.
Not Recommended For: Residential-Only Service Businesses
LinkedIn audiences are professional, not residential. A residential lawn care company or home cleaning service will find CPCs too high and audience quality too low relative to Facebook, Instagram, or Google. LinkedIn's targeting is a precision tool for commercial buyers — don't use it to reach homeowners.
Benchmark
The Omni Standard
What Most Businesses Do
Invisible or Random
- Ignore LinkedIn entirely — no page, no ads, no presence
- Post occasionally with no strategy or consistency
- Run broad ads with no job title or company size targeting
- Send ad traffic to the company homepage
- Give up when CPC seems expensive vs. Facebook
- Pitch in every post — no credibility built before the ask
The Omni Way
Always-On, Decision-Maker First
- Sponsored Content targeted to exact job titles and company sizes
- Thought Leadership Ads running from the owner's personal profile
- Lead Gen Forms — native LinkedIn forms that pre-fill and convert 3× better than landing pages
- InMail campaigns used sparingly and written to feel personal
- Retargeting layered across all LinkedIn touchpoints
- All leads flow into LeadSprout with full attribution to pipeline revenue
Ad Formats
Campaign Structure
Awareness + Conversion
Sponsored Content
Single image or video posts that appear in the LinkedIn feed. Target by exact job title (Property Manager, Facilities Director, COO), company size, and industry. This is your always-on presence format — it keeps you visible in the feed of the exact decision-maker you want.
Highest Trust Format
Thought Leadership Ads
Run posts directly from the business owner's personal LinkedIn profile as ads. LinkedIn users trust content from people far more than from company pages. The owner posts educational content — industry insights, process explainers, advice for their buyer — and Wundertre amplifies it to the right audience. This is the most credible format on the platform and most brands completely ignore it.
Highest Conversion
Lead Gen Forms
Native LinkedIn forms that pre-fill automatically with the user's LinkedIn profile data — name, email, job title, company. Because the friction is near-zero, conversion rates are significantly higher than sending traffic to a landing page. Keep forms to 3–4 fields max: name, email, company, phone. These leads flow directly into LeadSprout.
Direct Outreach
Message Ads (InMail)
Sponsored direct messages delivered to a targeted list's LinkedIn inbox. Must feel personal — write in first person, reference their role or industry, make a specific and relevant offer. Use sparingly; too frequent and it feels like spam. InMail benchmarks: 30–50% open rate. Best used for high-value offers, event invites, or a warm follow-up to someone who engaged with Sponsored Content.
Bottom of Funnel
Retargeting
Re-engage people who've already signaled interest: website visitors (tracked via LinkedIn Insight Tag), video viewers, lead form openers who didn't complete, and company page visitors. Retargeting audiences convert at a significantly higher rate than cold audiences — layer this across every LinkedIn campaign.
Creative Rules
Creative Best Practices
01
Teach before you pitch. Content that educates outperforms content that sells — every time. "3 things property managers get wrong about HVAC maintenance" will outperform "We do commercial HVAC" because it gives the buyer something valuable before asking for anything. The Omni approach is to earn the conversation, not buy it.
02
Video: 30–90 seconds, owner on camera. Professional but not over-produced. LinkedIn users are in a professional mindset, so the bar for production is slightly higher than TikTok — but authenticity still wins over polish. The owner or a key expert speaking directly to camera builds credibility that no graphic ever will.
03
Lead Gen Forms: 3–4 fields maximum. Name, email, company, phone. Every additional field cuts conversion rate significantly. The pre-fill removes the biggest barrier — don't add new ones. The goal is volume of qualified leads, not comprehensive data collection at the form stage.
04
Carousel ads for process and proof. Carousel format works well on LinkedIn for before/after pairs, step-by-step process breakdowns, and multiple service offerings. Each card should have a single point — don't overload. Use the final card as a clear CTA card.
05
Thought Leader Ads are the highest-ROI format most brands skip. The owner posts educational content on their personal LinkedIn profile, then Wundertre runs that post as a Thought Leader Ad — it appears in the target audience's feed as a personal post from the business owner, not a company ad. This is the most trusted format on LinkedIn. It builds authority while generating leads. If a client has a willing owner, this is always the first format to activate.
06
Refresh creative every 6 weeks minimum. LinkedIn audiences are relatively small compared to Facebook or Google. Ad fatigue sets in faster. Running the same creative for months causes CPCs to rise and CTR to fall. Rotate creative on a 6-week schedule; track CTR as the early warning signal.
Audience Build
Targeting Strategy
| Targeting Dimension | Omni Approach | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Job Title | Be specific — match exactly to your buyer's actual title, not a category | "Property Manager," "Facilities Director," "Office Manager," "COO" — not just "Manager" |
| Company Size | Calibrate to your ideal commercial client's headcount | 10–50 employees for smaller commercial accounts; 50–500 for mid-market; 500+ for enterprise |
| Industry | Layer industry on top of title to eliminate irrelevant companies | Real estate, construction, facility management, healthcare, education, retail |
| Seniority | Decision-maker and director level minimum — exclude entry-level and individual contributors | Director, Manager, VP, C-Suite, Owner |
| Geography | Set radius around service area or target specific metro areas | 25–50 mile radius, or hand-select metro areas if multi-location |
| Matched Audiences | Upload a target account list from LeadSprout Company Prospecting; retarget website visitors via Insight Tag | CSV of target companies + website retargeting; combined audiences reach warmer buyers |
Audience Size Rule: LinkedIn audiences under 50,000 can struggle to scale. Aim for 50,000–300,000 for Sponsored Content. Use narrower audiences (10,000–50,000) for retargeting and InMail.
Platform Connections
WundertreOS Integration
LinkedIn Insight Tag
Install via WundertreOS or manually on the client's website. Required for website retargeting, conversion tracking, and demographic data on site visitors. This must be live before any LinkedIn ads go active — no Insight Tag means no retargeting and no attribution data.
MarketBOOST — Ads Hub
Connect LinkedIn to the MarketBOOST Ads hub for unified campaign management, cross-channel reporting, and budget tracking alongside Google, Meta, and other channels. All LinkedIn spend and lead data surfaces in MarketBOOST dashboards.
LeadSprout — Company Prospecting
Use LeadSprout's Company Prospecting tool alongside LinkedIn to build lists of target companies in your service area. Export the list, upload to LinkedIn as a Matched Audience, and run Sponsored Content directly to the accounts you've already identified as ideal prospects.
LeadSprout — Pipeline Attribution
All LinkedIn leads are tagged with their source in LeadSprout CRM pipeline. This is what closes the loop from ad spend to closed revenue — every LinkedIn lead is tracked through the pipeline so you can report on pipeline influenced revenue, not just cost per lead.
Performance
What to Measure
$50–$150
Cost Per Lead
LinkedIn CPLs are higher than other channels — that's normal for B2B. A $100 LinkedIn lead that closes a $15,000 commercial contract is a great deal.
Lead Quality
Lead Quality Score
Are incoming leads the right job titles and company sizes? Review the first 30 leads carefully — targeting adjustments made early save significant budget.
30–50%
InMail Open Rate
Industry benchmark for Message Ads. Below 25% is a signal the message feels too generic or the targeting is off. Above 50% means strong personalization and fit.
10–15%
Lead Form Completion
Benchmark for Lead Gen Form completion rate. Forms over 4 fields typically fall below 10%. Keep it short. Test different offers to improve this rate.
Pipeline $
Pipeline Influenced Revenue
The ultimate LinkedIn metric: what revenue closed from leads that touched LinkedIn? Tracked in LeadSprout. This is how you justify LinkedIn's higher CPL to clients.
What Not to Do
Common Mistakes
Running LinkedIn for residential-only service businesses. LinkedIn's professional audience and higher CPCs make it the wrong channel for reaching homeowners. Match the channel to the buyer.
Sending ad traffic to the homepage. A homepage is not a conversion asset — it's a navigation hub. LinkedIn ad traffic should always go to a Lead Gen Form or a dedicated landing page with a single CTA. Never the homepage.
Giving up because CPCs are high. LinkedIn CPCs are 3–5× higher than Facebook. That's not a bug — it's the price of precision B2B targeting. Evaluate by pipeline revenue, not by CPC alone.
Never activating Thought Leadership Ads. This is the highest-trust format on LinkedIn and the most underused. If a client is willing to have the owner post educational content, Thought Leader Ads are the first campaign to launch.
Running the same creative for months. LinkedIn audiences are smaller than Facebook's. Ad fatigue is faster. Track CTR weekly — when it starts dropping, refresh creative. Minimum: every 6 weeks.
Not installing the LinkedIn Insight Tag before launching ads. Without the Insight Tag, you have no retargeting capability and no conversion data. Always install it first — before a single dollar is spent.
